Security man, docked over alleged theft of N2m.

A Security man Mathew Bassey who allegedly damaged a building under construction and stole an Air Conditioner cooper cable valued N2million, has been arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s court in Lagos.

Bassey 21 is facing a two count charge bordering on wilful and malicious damage and stealing preferred against him, by the police. The prosecutor Inspector Abass Abayomi told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offences on August 3, 2018, at about 8: 30 am.

He said that the incident took place behind Catholic Church ilasan in Eti- Osa local government area of Lagos state. Abayomi  said that Bassey wilfully and maliciously damaged a building under construction and also stole an Air Conditioner Cooper cable valued N2miilion, property of Chief Yomi.

According to the prosecutor, the offences committed is punishable under sections 350 and 287 (8) of the criminal laws of Lagos state 2015. However the defendant pleaded guilty to the charged against him. Magistrate Miss M. F. Onanusi adjourned the case to August 8, for facts and sentence.
