Missing cat found hanged with noose in neighbour’s garden.

Missing cat found hanged with noose in neighbour's garden
The body of a missing cat was discovered hanging in a neighbour’s garden this week.

Puss Puss was found on Friday dangling over a fence after being strung up by rope, which had been hooked over nail on the other side.

The mother cat had blood spattered down her back legs.

She was discovered by the neighbour of her distraught owner in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

Yesterday the RSPCA launched an investigation to find out who had carried out the cruel act against PussPuss and whether she had died because of the hanging or was killed beforehand.

Her owner Lisa Gamage said she was horrified that someone could be so cruel and that PussPuss was being missed by her son.

She said: ‘It’s really sad’.

PussPuss, who had been taken in by the family three years ago as a young, pregnant stray, belonged to Lisa’s nine-year-old son, Kobi, along with PussPuss’s son, Gary.

She added: ‘Gary is really missing her.

‘I feel so sorry for him. We’re all missing her, she was such an attention-seeker and now she’s not here. She was such a beautiful cat, she was really friendly.

‘She didn’t really go far and didn’t like going out in the rain. I’m just hoping she was killed quickly and she wasn’t tormented or anything. I want to find out what happened to her.’

RSPCA inspector Jaime Godfrey was alerted after the cat was found.

He said: ‘This was a very unpleasant and upsetting find for the homeowner who discovered the cat belonged to a neighbour.

‘Police said the white cat had been found hanging from a garden fence and had blood splattered down her rear legs.

‘This would have been an extremely shocking find for the caller and absolutely heartbreaking for the cat’s owner.

‘We’re not yet clear whether she was still alive when she was hung using the noose and whether she was strangled, or whether she was simply placed like this post-death.

‘But it’s horrifying that anyone could be capable of doing this to a cat so we’re appealing for anyone with any information to come forward and speak to us.’
