Cultist Killed by Rival Cult Group in Calabar, Cross River State.

The Incident happened at a local beach at Henshaw Town, along Hawkins Street, Calabar, Cross River State capital by 10am on Saturday.

A young man, a Meat Dealer, who was suspected to be a Cultist was killed by a Rival cult group, the victim with name Eteka Iyor was chased by this rival cult group to the beach where he was doing his meat selling business to buyers but unfortunately, he couldn't escape the bullets fired by the Rival group which hit him on the eye region.

Shortly after the attackers fired, the victim fell while his attackers fled, sympathizers tried to take his body to the Hospital but was intercepted by the Security Operatives who took the body to the Hospital.

The Victim was said to be a quiet man & it was difficult to believe he was a cultist, one of the eyewitnesses said. She went ahead to express fear about how people could kill their fellow human being as if he were an animal.

She said: “When people want to kill animals, they have sympathy but our young men of today particularly suspected cultists don’t have sympathy, it’s rather unfortunately.”

The Commissioner of Police, Halfix Inuwa replying to our correspondent’s text message on Sunday confirmed the incident, saying that the victim died, “I heard about the death of a cultist following a fracas between two rival cult groups.”

He, however, did not say if anyone was arrested.
