Hunter found dead in a lake at Delta.

A hunter, Mr Augustine Oyubu, 40, has been found dead at Otumara Road Ogharefe in Ethiope West local council of Delta State after four days after he was declared missing.

Mrs. Itite Oyubu, his wife said her husband had gone to the woods on that day at about 6.30pm in the evening, saying that she called him at 8pm  and he confirmed to her that he was fine.

Being Emotional here, she said her husband had arrived his hunt ground sometime last week but was drenched in the rain. She said that was the last conversation she had with him.

However, the lifeless body of the hunter was found in a lake by one Dr. Israel Futighe, with no injury inflicted on him though the head and face were swollen.

A local who would not want his name in print, explained that such mysterious deaths in the land are taboos and desecrate the land and so the deceased could not be buried in Oghara, except the Inotu and Chief Priest liaise and perform all the necessary rituals and sacrifice.

The sudden demise of the hunter was felt by Oboromudu community and his close associates as the incident served as a lesson for all hunters in the area, that the bush is no longer safe for hunting.

In line with Oghara tradition, after due consultation with the Chief Priest, the body of Oyubu was buried at the place his corpse was found since the cause of his death was unknown.
