Nigerian lady receives honourary MBE from Queen Elizabeth.


 On May 19, Anne-Marie Osawemwemze Imafidon was decorated by Queen Elizabeth with the prestigious honour of Member of the Most Excellent British Empire (MBE).

 The 27-year old Nigerian was included in the great honour for her work in inspiring and supporting young women into Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths careers.

 Anne-Marie is the founder of Stemettes an award-winning social enterprise working across the UK & Ireland and beyond. Anne is one of the extremely bright young Nigerian residing in the United Kingdom.

 She is a multi-linguist who is fluent in six languages.Following her remarkable achievement, Anne-Marie was recognized for her hardwork and dedication and honoured by the queen.

 Anne-Marie said she fund it surprising and honouring that she was included. She said: “It’s a well done and thank you to my team, our volunteers and those who have taken us seriously over the last 4 years.
 This is humbling and a sign of what is to come. Inclusivity in the sector and across society is important for all of us – it’s an honour in itself to do the work we do.”
